Reflection after a long day

Alhamdulilah, it’s been a good day - the kind of day you look back on and appreciate the good stuff. The late-night walks, the eating out... the small moments that make you smile.

But sometimes I wonder - is this what life is supposed to be all about? Enjoyment and play?

And it strikes me that truly, this life is just an illusion. As Allah says in the Quran:

 وَمَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا لَهْوٌۭ وَلَعِبٌۭ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلدَّارَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ لَهِىَ ٱلْحَيَوَانُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُون

"This worldly life is no more than play and amusement. But the Hereafter is indeed the real life, if only they knew." [Al-Ankabut 29:64]

With this reminder echoing in my heart, I realize that I need to be more proactive in my daily life - to give more than I take, and to use the gifts Allah has granted me to benefit the ummah.

Because after all, this life isn’t about endless enjoyment and comfort. It’s about living with purpose, striving for Allah’s pleasure, and preparing for the eternal home.

May Allah allow us to live this life in the best way, so that we can attain the best in the Akhirah.

May He help us appreciate His blessings and be truly thankful.

May He make us conscious of Him in all that we do, and allow us to use our blessings in the best way possible.
